Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 and died on April 15, 1865. James Buchanan Jr. was born on April 23, 1791 and died on June 1, 1868. He was the 15th president of the United States from 1857 to 1861, serving instantly prior to the American Civil War. He was a member of the Democratic Party and the 17th Secretary of State, and he had served in the Senate and House of Representatives before becoming president.

Franklin Pierce was born on November 23, 1804 and died on October 8, 1869. He was the 14th president of the United States (1853–1857), a northern Democrat who viewed the abolitionist movement as a underlying danger to the integrity of the country. John Stuart, the Earl of Bute and Prime Minister of Great Britain is my 12th cousin 2x removed. The ancestor who connects us togher as relatives is Ralph de Neville Sir, of Raby Earl of Westmorland (1364 – 1425), my 13th great grandfather.

A near relative of the family Campbell (his mother was a daughter of the 1st Duke of Argyll), Bute succeeded to the Earldom of Bute (named after the Isle of Bute) upon the death of his father, James Stuart, 2nd Earl of Bute, in 1723. He was brought up thereafter by his maternalistic uncles, the 2nd Duke of Argyll and Archibald Campbell, 3rd Duke of Argyll, 1st and only Earl of Ilay, Viscount and Earl of Hay. Bute studied at Eton College (1720–1728) and the University of Leiden, Netherlands (1728–1732), where he managed to graduate with a degree in civil and public law. On 24 August 1736, he married Mary Wortley Montagu (daughter of Sir Edward and Lady Mary Wortley Montagu), bringing the large Wortley estates to his family. In 1737, due to the influence of his uncles, he was elected a Scottish representative peer, but he was not very active in the Lords and was not reelected in 1741. For the next several years he retired to his estates in Scotland to manage his affairs and indulge his interest in botany.

Bill de Blasio was born on May 8, 1961 in Manhattan’s Doctors Hospital in New York City. He is the third son of Maria Angela (née de Blasio; 1917–2007) and Warren Wilhelm (1917–1979). De Blasio has two brothers, Steven and Donald, thirteen and eight years his senior, respectively. His mother was of Italian heritage, and his father was of German, English, French, and Scots-Irish ancestry. His paternal grandparents were Donald Wilhelm, of Ohio, and Nina (Warren), who was born in Iowa. His maternal grandfather, Giovanni, was from the city of Sant’Agata de’ Goti, Benevento, and his grandmother, Anna (née Briganti), was from Grassano, Matera. His paternal uncle, Donald George Wilhelm Jr., worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in Iran and secretly wrote Mohammad Reza Pahlavi’s memoir.

Henry Jaynes Fonda was born on May 16, 1905 and died on August 12, 1982. Fonda was an American film and stage actor with a vocation spanning five decades.

Fonda made his mark early as a Broadway actor. He also starred in 1938 in plays performed in White Plains, New York, with Joan Tompkins. He established his Hollywood debut in 1935, along with his career gained momentum after his Academy Award-nominated performance as Tom Joad in The Grapes of Wrath, a 1940 adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel about an Oklahoma family who moved west throughout the Dust Bowl.

He first gained recognition on radio and Broadway, he then became recognized for their part as Rob Petrie in the CBS television sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show, which ran from 1961 to 1966. Elizabeth Victoria Montgomery was born on April 15, 1933 and died may 18, 1995. She was an American film, stage, and television actress whose career spanned five decades. This woman is best remembered on her leading role as Samantha Stephens in the television series Bewitched.

The daughter of actor Robert Montgomery, she began her career into the 1950s with a task on the father’s television series Robert Montgomery Presents, and won a Theater World Award on her 1956 Broadway debut when you look at the production Late Love. When you look at the 1960s, she became known for her role as Samantha Stephens from the ABC sitcom Bewitched. Her work with the series earned her five Primetime Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations. After Bewitched ended its run in 1972, Montgomery continued her career with roles in numerous television films, including A Case of Rape (1974), as Ellen Harrod, and The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975) within the title role. Both roles earned her additional Emmy Award nominations.

William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was created on February 23, 1868 – August 27, 1963. He had been an American sociologist, historian, civil rights activist, Pan-Africanist, author, writer and editor. Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Du Bois was raised in a somewhat tolerant and integrated community, and after finishing graduate just work at the University of Berlin and Harvard, where he had been the very first African American to earn a doctorate, he became a professor of history, sociology and economics at Atlanta University. Du Bois was one of many founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1909.

Fred M. Rogers is my 14th cousin 1x removed. The ancestor who connects us together is Sir John Bingham Borlase, High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire (1526 – 1603), my 11th great grandfather.

Fred McFeely Rogers was born to James and Nancy Rogers; he spent a long time as an only child. Early in his life he spent most of his spare time together with maternal grandfather, Fred McFeely, that would later move to Florida, along with a pursuit in music. He would often sing along as his mother would have fun with the piano, and also at the age of five, he began to have fun with the piano as well.

Rogers graduated from Latrobe senior high school (1946). He studied at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, (1946–1948). He utilized in Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where he received a BA in music composition in 1951.

At Rollins, Rogers met Sara Joanne Byrd, an Oakland, Florida native. They married on June 9, 1952. They had two children, James (born in 1959) and John (born in 1961), and three grandsons, the 3rd (Ian McFeely Rogers) born 12 days after Rogers’ death. In 1963, Rogers graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained a minister within the Presbyterian Church. Scholastically, he went on to garner 40 more honorary degrees throughout his life. Rogers was red-green color blind, swam each morning, was a vegetarian, and neither smoked nor drank.

Rogers also owned a summer home on Nantucket into the village of Madaket regarding the western end of the island.
